Community Safety Coastal Survey

During 2018 work was begun on looking at coastal risk and a couple of locations within our area. As a result of this safety information signs were deployed at one site and discussions began with the caravan site operator on approaches to promote community safety.

In addition during 2018 a walk over safety survey was carried out on the Northumberland Coastal Path between Cresswell and Newbiggin with various actions identified.

During this year work will begin on a systematic review of the coastline to look at specific risks and what can be done to mitigate them. Liaison will be carried out with landowners, local authorities, commercial operators and the RNLI Community Safety Team to take this new project forward.

The work has continued during 2019 with a report containing the findings due to be published during 2020.
